Hello All, Here is a little update with what went on over the last week and into the weekend. I was asked by a few of my fellow fisherman to share my views on how difficult fishing was this past weekend, Hope this helps some of you others out~
This past weekend fished extremely tough when compared to the previous few weeks. Much of our population of fish that where in 3 to 5 feet of water simply retreated with the new moon and colder sustained temperatures. We had a really good push of fish coming shallow last month with the unseasonably warm temperatures and a REALLY big moon. Last weeks colder temp's simply zapped the warming water and the fish responded in a very negative way. All week last week we saw water surface temps in the upper 40's and low 50 degree range. Saturday was no exception, the day's air temp started at 37 degrees with the water surface temperature at 50. With light winds and High Pressure over the area our fish just did not want to participate. My guide trips both Thursday and Friday did fairly well overall considering the colder temps, consistency was key both these days. We had good cloud cover and wind, this was not the case Saturday. You've got to have those tough days too make the good ones stand out! We are really close to AWESOME fishing here on the reservoir, I'll be on the water every day and reporting what I find!
