Greers Ferry Fishing Report

Current water temperatures are in the lower 60's and edging up a little each day.  The walleye bite is finally starting to improve although consistent fishing for them specifically is still lagging. One day a limit or two and then next very few species specific bites.  Crappie are still staging for the spawn with some actively spawning. The very best bite is still deep, Depths of 25 to 45 feet are holding lot's of Big Females that have NOT dropped there eggs yet.  Trolling and Long Lining Jigs is still the very best way to locate and catch a limit.  All 3 species of bass are currently in all 3 stages of the spawn.  Fish are concentrated in small areas no matter the depth.  One foot out to 18 feet of water are holding concentrations of Blacks, Smallmouth and Ky's.  White Bass and Hybrids are feeding well and surfacing and schooling at different time's of the day.  Select pockets and creeks with the most bait are holding the most temperate bass.  In-line Spinners, Top Waters and the Alabama Rig are getting bit when fished through schools of feeding fish.  The next couple of months are going to be an excellent time to hit the water with a lot of action.
